What We Believe

Mission Statement:

Gateway Church exists to invest in and invite people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Core Values:

1.  People Matter to God - We believe that every person is valuable to God. We communicate that people matter to God through every aspect of our church life. All ministry flows out of this primary value.

2.  Relationships Matter to God - We believe that life change happens best through building authentic and encouraging relationships through Jesus Christ and His church. We place a strong emphasis on small groups, service teams and mission teams as well as provide a variety of recreational and fellowship events to accomplish this core value.

3.  Spiritual Growth Matters to God - We believe that spiritual growth takes shape by hearing and obeying God's Word, through an active prayer life, through engaging worship, and as we authentically serve others in Jesus' name. Each ministry at Gateway is shaped for growth opportunities.

4.  Spiritual Multiplication Matters to God - We believe God's kingdom grows by multiplication: people investing and inviting people into a relationship with Jesus Christ, groups birthing new groups, and churches birthing new churches. We partner together with one another and God to fulfill his Great Commission.

What We Believe:

At Gateway we believe that God is the Creator and ruler of the universe. He exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are one God.

Genesis 1:1 & 26-27 Genesis 3:22 Psalm 90:2
Matthew 28:19 I Peter 1:2 II Corinthians 13:13

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is equal with the Father. He lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days showing His power over sin and death. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. He serves as the only bridge between God and people. He will return to earth one day to reign as Lord over all.

Matthew 1:22-23 John 1:1-5 & 14: 10-30 Hebrews 4:14-15. I Corinthians 15:3-4
Romans 1:3-4 Acts 1:9-11 I Timothy 6: 14-15 Titus 2:13

John 14:14-19; 16:12-15; 20:19-23 Acts 1:6-8 Romans 8:1-17

The Bible is God’s Word for all mankind. It was written by human authors under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.

Proverbs 30:5 Psalm 119:105,160 II Timothy 3:16 II Peter 1:20- 21

Salvation is the forgiveness of our sin, deliverance from bondage, and the gift of new life in Christ. It is a process that begins when you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior. Salvation gives victory over sin and death.
